Exclusivity is a beta program that gives you the opportunity to be the only Faire stockist of a brand's products in your local area by committing to the brand's required annual spend for a 12-month exclusivity period.
Currently, brands based in the UK, France, and Australia can choose to offer this benefit to retailers based in their respective countries.
Please note that only brick & mortar retailers will be eligible to participate in the exclusivity program.
How does exclusivity work?
Brands can choose to offer you exclusivity by turning on the program and setting their required annual spend. If a brand has turned on exclusivity, you will see the offer on the brand’s page.
If you are the first retailer to commit to a brand’s required annual spend, this will activate exclusivity in your specific exclusivity area.
This area is determined by Faire, based on your location and the density of retailers nearby. An exclusivity agreement applies to a brand’s entire catalog and lasts for 12 months.
It’s important to note that :
- Brands reserve the right to cancel an exclusivity agreement within 7 days if there’s a conflict.
- If a brand cancels an exclusivity agreement, you will be notified and will no longer be responsible for meeting the brand’s required annual spend.
- Brands can see your store location on a map and are asked to consider conflicting relationships, this includes their relationships with Faire retailers as well as relationships they may have with retailers off the Faire Marketplace, to ensure the value of the exclusivity program for you.
- Faire is only able to enforce exclusivity for orders placed on Faire and cannot guarantee in your local area beyond purchases placed on our site.
During your exclusivity period, no other retailer in your exclusivity area will be able to buy from the brand on Faire. Retailers who are blocked from ordering will still be able to view the brand’s page and products, but will not be able to add products to their cart.
Which orders count towards my exclusivity agreement?
During your exclusivity period, each order from the brand that you place on Faire will count towards the required annual spend. Additionally, any orders placed 24 hours prior to activating the exclusivity agreement will count towards the required annual spend. Orders placed with the brand off of Faire will not count towards the required annual spend.
At the end of the 12-month period, you will be responsible for any unmet commitment amounts and Faire will charge you for the balance owed. Faire isn’t responsible for any required annual spend that isn’t met.
How can I manage my exclusivity agreement?
You’ll be able to filter your exclusive brands on the My Brands page and see all the exclusivity details, including the brand information, the remaining commitment amount, the expiration date, and a map of your exclusivity area. Faire will also send you periodic reminders throughout your 12-month exclusivity period to help you stay on track with your required spend.
If your exclusivity address is incorrect, please contact our Support team for assistance.
Can I cancel an exclusivity agreement?
If you need to terminate your exclusivity agreement with a brand, we encourage you to reach out to the brand through Faire Messenger to discuss the cancellation. Once an agreement has been reached, you can contact our Support team via our contact form, and we will be happy to assist you.
If an exclusivity agreement is canceled for any reason, you will no longer be required to meet the annual required spend and will no longer have exclusivity with the brand.
