Australian retailers who sign up for an Insider membership will receive the following benefits:
- Free shipping on thousands of brands, selected by Faire, requiring a minimum order of AUD $450 or AUD $750 to qualify. (to learn more, read Why does Insider free shipping require a minimum order to qualify?)
- Exclusive, early access to Faire’s online buying events and new brand arrivals on the site.
Based on how the program is performing, globally, these buyers not only drive 80% of Faire sales, but they also buy twice as much as non-Insiders overall, and most of their spend is with brands that have free shipping.
How do retailers join?
Australian retailers are able to sign up for Insider by clicking the “Insider” button at the top of their home page. Australian retailers will be given the chance to sign up for a 30-day free trial when they first join. Once the free trial ends, the Insider membership fee is AUD $29.99 per month.
How does Faire determine if my brand is covered for free shipping with Insider?
Insiders from the marketplace (orders on which you pay commission) will see free shipping on your brand when the estimated cost to ship is below 6%* of the order value. We use the retailer’s location and your prior reported shipping costs to estimate the shipping cost and determine eligibility.
If you are participating in The Insider Partnership for Australian brands, your Insider free shipping coverage will be extended to 13% if you're an Insider Partner, 10% if you're an Insider Partner Basic — and Insider free shipping will be extended to your Faire direct customers (0% commission) if eligibility threshold is met.
At this time, there is no way to request that your brand be covered for shipping for a specific retailer. We assess Insider's free shipping coverage regularly, and occasionally make adjustments based on the estimated shipping costs.
*Note that this % may vary by retailer country.
Why does Insider free shipping require a minimum order to qualify?
Insider free shipping requires that retailers place an order of at least AUD $450 or AUD $750 to qualify for free shipping. These minimum order amounts (which are determined by Faire) allow us to offer free shipping on a wider range of orders.
Note that this AUD $450 or AUD $750 minimum is different from the order/reorder minimum you have set for your store—retailers will still need to hit your order/reorder minimum to order from you.
How often does Faire change who is eligible for Insider free shipping?
We refresh Insider coverage on a quarterly basis to ensure the cost-effectiveness of Insider free shipping and, when shipping costs between a brand and retailer are consistently higher than the eligibility threshold (% of the order value), an Insider that previously had free shipping on your brand may lose Insider free shipping eligibility. Similarly, some Insiders who previously did not have Insider free shipping on your brand may gain it. In the event that happens, we notify your retailer 2 weeks ahead of the quarterly refresh.
Note that the order value is the sum of the order items, pre-discount, pre-commission, and pre-tax.
Can international Insiders be eligible for free shipping on my brand?
Yes, though Insider eligibility tends to be lower internationally given higher shipping costs:
As an Australian brand, in addition to orders from Australian Insiders, you may also receive eligible orders from US, Canadian, and European Insiders.
Please note that if you receive orders from European Insiders, the Insider free shipping benefits also include import duties.
How do I know which Insider retailers are eligible for free shipping on my brand?
You can see if a customer is eligible for Insider free shipping on your brand by viewing their specific Customer information page (accessible from the Customers page). For orders that receive Insider free shipping on your brand, you’ll also see Insider free shipping on the specific order page.
We’re planning to add Insider free shipping eligibility to your Customers page as well. Currently, there is no way to request that a specific Insider be eligible for Insider free shipping on your brand.
How can I expand Insider free shipping on my products?
You can expand Insider free shipping offered to retailers on your products by becoming an Insider Partner brand. To learn more, visit The Insider Partnership for Australian brands
Is Insider available for retailers in New Zealand?
